Company Overview
Formed in 1999, Prime Communications launched its retail operations by selling
wireless phones and accessories from a small kiosk in a Houston mall. The
company's successful mix of retail savvy and strong financial controls
enabled it to thrive in the wireless industry, long known for intense competition
for guests.
Prime Communications began expanding immediately, opening mall kiosks, walk-in
and stand-alone stores in urban areas of the southeastern United States.
By the end of its first year, the company operated nine retail stores. Prime
Communications now owns and operates
170+
specialty stores in Alabama, California, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Maryland, North and South Carolina and Texas. In addition, significant expansion is under way.
Today Prime Communications, a company with high performance and accountability
standards, is on track with its plans to operate 350-400 retail wireless
specialty stores within the next few years.
The firm is a full-service, Premier Agent for AT&T and has a similar agent relationship with Verizon Wireless. Prime Communications
is prominent in its market, since fewer than 10 wireless agents nationwide
operate more than 100 stores. Each of the Prime Communications stores is
indistinguishable from corporate-owned stores run by wireless network operators.
A stable, privately held company, Prime Communications is built on a conservative
capital structure and its remarkable growth has been internally funded.
In 2004, the firm moved to a 15,000-square foot facility in Sugar Land,
a suburb southwest of Houston, to accommodate its headquarters staff.
Prime Communications employs hundreds of people across its operations
and is actively recruiting additional employees experienced in the
wireless industry.
